OUR STORY

Ogongo Music School was born from a vision to uplift school dropouts, particularly those impacted by financial struggles in Homa Bay County, Kenya. Starting with just a piece of land, our founders aimed to provide a second chance through music education. Today, we strive to empower these young individuals with skills in brass, choral, and traditional music, alongside life skills and therapy, despite the lack of a teaching hall and sufficient instruments. With a growing need for sponsorship to support our students and partners to build infrastructure, we are committed to transforming lives and restoring hope, seeking as many sponsors as possible to make this dream a reality

With only land to start, we aim to build a teaching hall and acquire instruments, relying on sponsorships and partnerships to empower students with life skills, therapy, and opportunities for a brighter future.

AProvide Accessible Music Education: Deliver structured training in brass orchestra, choral singing, traditional dance, piano, and strings to equip students with artistic and technical skills.

Joshua Omolo

Founder, Ogongo Music School

Joshua O Omolo is a self taught pianist who founded Ogongo Music School in Homa Bay county Kenya. He teaches about 100 underprivileged students, emphasizing music's role in early childhood development. He finally relocated to his native land where he deviced a way to help his community and came up with Ogongo Music School. This is not only a way of giving back to the community but also empowering and changing lives for a better and fruitful future

Patron

Ted Summitt is an experienced entrepreneur and global program director with a strong background in logistics, strategic planning, and education-focused travel. His journey through Southern and Eastern Africa inspired a deep appreciation for the power of music in community development. As a patron of Ogongo Music School, Ted brings a unique blend of business insight and a heartfelt commitment to empowering youth through music education. With roots in the piano industry and years of experience leading international programs, he supports Ogongo’s mission to inspire, uplift, and transform lives through music.
